Kitchen Display System for Restaurants

A Kitchen Display System (KDS) replaces paper order tickets with screens that show every incoming order instantly, routed automatically by station — prep, hot line, or drinks. ZyloPOS KDS delivers each order in under 1 second, tracks prep time per dish, and eliminates lost or misread tickets entirely.

How much does a KDS cost?

Software subscriptions (Starter / Pro / Enterprise) do not include KDS. KDS is available as hardware — for example the Standard Bundle (with a 10" KDS display) and Pro Enterprise Bundle (2× KDS terminals). See current one-time pricing on the Hardware page. You can also run KDS on your own iPad, Android tablet or wall-mounted screen (BYOD).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Kitchen Display System (KDS)?

A KDS is a screen-based system that shows kitchen staff their orders in real time, replacing paper tickets. Orders arrive instantly from the POS or QR ordering flow, sorted by station, with timers that track how long each ticket has been open.

Is KDS included in the software subscription?

No. Starter, Pro and Enterprise software plans do not include KDS. Kitchen printer support is included per plan; for KDS screens and pricing, see the Hardware page (Standard and Pro Enterprise bundles include KDS units), or use your own tablet.

Do I need special KDS hardware?

No proprietary screen is required — ZyloPOS KDS runs in a browser on any iPad, Android tablet, or wall-mounted display. Certified KDS displays are optional and listed with one-time prices on the Hardware page.

Can I use both a KDS and kitchen printers together?

Yes. Many restaurants run KDS screens on the main cooking line while keeping network printers at the bar or pastry station. ZyloPOS supports hybrid routing per station.
